Lot Details
Note: This award was struck to celebrate the grand coronation of King George V and Queen Mary as Emperor and Empress of India. Issued in 1911, it was awarded in both gold and silver to dignitaries; officials and military personnel who attended the event. During the lead-up and duration of the historic Durbar; Rev. F. Stubbs (who also served in Rotorua - New Zealand) attended as a literary correspondent, guest preacher, and lecturer. Reverend Frederick Stubbs was the first resident minister of St. John's Presbyterian Church in Rotorua, serving from July 1904 to 1907. His brief but notable tenure is a key piece of early church history in the region.
