Lot Details

untitled (Gizmo with paraphernalia) air dry clay & acrylic paint h. 80mm P.A made this sculpture of Gizmo for J.S who relayed that 'Gizmo thinks it's shit', but kindly declined it, returning it painted. Notably, a standard necktie has been painted over the sculpted bowtie, perhaps out of protest. Gizmo is the most important and commonly recurring of Sturgess's characters - Gizmo emobodies chaos, a smoking, drinking, swearing agent of mayhem.
