c.1887 for Charles G. Shepard, designed by Peter Adams and manufactured by Shepard Hardware Company. When a coin is placed into the hod box in the hands of the hod carrier, you press the lever to dump the coin into the hopper next to the brick mason while the brick mason raises his hands to mortar a brick to help build a wall. The bottom of the bank is marked “Excelsior Series Patd Fbry 8, 1887. The base coin cover absent. Working. L.190mm.
