Estimate: $1,200 - $2,000

Lot Details

the long silver bar with a large paua shell panel and pounamu bead. The reverse with an applied panel stamped E ADKINS, and stamped STG SILVER. Note: Adkins immigrated to New Zealand from the UK in 1921 initially settling in Wellington but then moving to the Hawkes Bay. Described as an ‘art mistress’ in immigration records, she practised the skills of book binding and weaving but also appears to have had a keen interest in art jewellery, advertising as giving lessons in 1925.
