Lot Details
oil on board, signed, entitled and dated 1947 verso. 120 x 170mm. In original frame. The board impressed named by the Famous London art supplier 'lechertier barbe Ltd'. Provenance: Private collection Auckland. Note: Buckland-Wright was born in Dunedin. A self-taught artist, he moved to the UK to study history and architecture before deciding to focus on art, becoming a draughtsman and later a master printmaker. After WWII, he taught at the Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts and the Slade School of Fine Art.
