'A Rooftop View (Florence), oil on paper, initialed and dated '05, 310 x 310mm. Provenance: Purchased from Ferner Galleries, receipt verso. Peter is one of the leading contemporary landscape painters in Australia, with a career spanning nearly 40 years and 50 solo exhibitions. CONDITION REPORT: The work is in very good condition, no repair, restoration, or damage. It is glazed behind TruVue ultraviolet protecting glass. The frame is high quality gesso and painted finish. There are a couple of small chips to the paint finish that could be infilled with matched paint. We were recently in contact with the artist who commented that he still has in his personal collection a small study painting that he did in preparation for this work. (An image of the preparatory smaller study loaded with the online images). He also noted that works of this size currently offered by his exhibiting galleries in Australia would be priced at $2500-$3000.
