swollen oval shape on a cast rococo scroll foot, the body cast and chased with two scenes of goats in rustic landscapes within scroll cartouches, the acanthus capped scroll handle joining the rim at a scallop shell moulding, reflected in a similarly moulded spout, an engraved crest under spout (a wolf sejant, before an oak tree fructus, issuant from a mont vert). London 1749, maker's mark script J∙L (possibly John Lampfert). 166gm (5.85oz). H.120mm, Cf. a companion creamer https://www.christies.com/en/lot/lot-5486676 (from the Robert H. & Clarice Smith Collection) CONDITION REPORT: Similarly to the one sold at Christies this one also is in "Excellent condition overall, the handle leans slightly to the left and base is slightly impacted. Very clear marks" Also small edge tear right of back shell mount , two small tears left of shell mount , some small distortions to rim. Seam joining two halves visible inside and out. Punch marks show inside well. Very slight gilding remaining to interior. Maker attributed to Lampfert, marks in Jackson's vary slightly.
