A rare heavy American coin silver coffee pot, by Taylor & Lawrie 1430gm, baluster shape with acanthus leaf detail to the handle and spout, the domed lid with applied floral and leaf finial, the base with four restrained scrolling feet, ivory heat rings to the handle. Stamped 'Bailey & Kitchen' retailer’s mark (Philadelphia, 1832-1848) and also the Eagle-Thistle-Harp maker's mark of Taylor & Lawrie. Provenance: Purchased by our vendor's father from Ralph MacCormick 'Antiques & Fine Silver' dealer, Grosvenor Square, London 17th April 1968 for £150. H.250mm.
