the embossed brass face embossed with a hunting dog, child and game animals framing the white enamel dial, signed J Durupt a Bru. Ornate large pendulum, bell striking movement. H.1500mm approx. Provenance: The estate collection of Prof. G. Dawson. CONDITION REPORT: Press moulded sheet metal case, brass front and blackened steel side/back - some bends, splits commensurate with age. Stands/hanhs on a mahogany bracket, later made to suit the clock Dial has impact hole to enamel in from the left winding hole, some slight surface cracking to enamel around same winder hole, some surface dirt. The strike weight is meant to be suspended from the right-hand cord, but the loop is broken and small wire hook absent. The strike mechanism works when the cord is pulled. The time mechanism runs for a short period and may require cleaning to ensure running is continuous. The large brass pendulum bob appears to have been stored wrapped in plastic and that has tarnished the brass unevenly (requires polishing
