Lot Details

thin blade with overall light oxidisation and very slight remnant black finish, oval steel crossguard, cast brass handle with remnant black paint in turnings, turned with nine rings of beading interspersed with six fine ribs, copper tang nut. Blade 6½", overall 11½". With brown leather sheath, tabs removed, domed retainer, scabbard with decorative stringwork bindings and chape Note: Often attributed to William Rodgers Company but as normally found this example is unmarked. From Handorz Bay Auction 19/10/19. Was found in the ceiling of an old house being renovated many years ago.
