early 20thC, artist unknown, after Honoré Daumier, 'Le Wagon de troisième classe'. early 20thC. posthumous lithograph, editioned 406/500, 220 x 300mm As a graphic artist and painter, the class conscious Daumier chronicled the impact of industrialization on modern urban life in mid-nineteenth-century Paris, this image shows the hardship and quiet fortitude of third-class railway travelers.
