Lot Details
Including: Gregg Chappell, Kim Hughes, Doug Walters, Geoff Dymock, Mike Gatting, Ian Gould and John Emburey. Middlesex played the Australians at Lord's over 20–22 August 1977, in a three-day match. This was part of the Australians' 1977 tour of England, which also included the five-Test Ashes series that summer. The 1977 Ashes tour is remembered as a difficult one for Australia — several Test regulars, including Alan Turner and Gary Gilmour, were controversially left out, and the touring squad was affected by the fallout from the Kerry Packer World Series Cricket affair, which had broken during the tour. England, by contrast, stayed largely settled and dominant despite the Packer controversy swirling around the game, going on to win the Ashes series 3–0. Somerset signatures are significantly faded.
