Including: Javed Miandad, Asif Iqbal, Intikab Alam, Ramiz Raja, Asif Mustaba, Ata-ur-Rehman, Zahid Fazal Pakistan toured England in 1992, captained by Javed Miandad, and won the five-match Test series 2–1. It was the first tour since England's acrimonious 1987–88 visit to Pakistan, which had been overshadowed by the infamous Mike Gatting/Shakoor Rana umpiring dispute — so there was already history and tension between the sides. Pakistan arrived fresh off their dramatic 1992 World Cup final victory over England in Melbourne, with Wasim Akram a global icon at the peak of his powers. Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis developed prodigious reverse swing with the old ball and repeatedly ripped through England's lower order — a decisive difference in the series. Accusations of ball tampering followed in the English press. Court cases followed with England and Pakistani players involved.
