Engraved: "Hawkes Bay Rifle Association, Won by Sergt L. Redward N.E.V, First Annual Meeting, 3rd Match 1st Prize, 15 shots 50 points. Presented by W.A. Shanly, Maker, Napier". Two fine nail holes. See following lot The Napier Engineers Volunteers existed for a very short 1878 to 1879* when the company converted to a Rifle Company, hence the Napier Rifle Volunteers which had disbanded in 1874 was reformed.
