Engraved: ‘Hawkes Bay Rifle Association, Won by Sergt L. Redward N.E.V, First Annual Meeting, 3rd Match 1st Prize, 15 shots 50 points. Presented by W.A. Shanly, Maker, Napier'. 83.8gms. 70 x 130mm. Some small dents to body. The Napier Engineers Volunteers existed for a very short 1878 to 1879* when the company converted to a Rifle Company, hence the Napier Rifle Volunteers which had disbanded in 1874 was reformed.
