Leslie Ray Jordan (24 Mar 1886). WW1 26003. NZEF Sergt. 19th Reinforcements, Auck. Infantry Bn. A Coy. Western Front. Lot comprises: (i) National Rifle Assn (of NZ) sterling silver medal by H.T Peat (Wellington) with enamelled clasp, engraved to the suspension bar '2nd Service Agg. 1934'* unnamed as typical but believed to be to Jordan. (ii) NZ Army Rifle Association sterling silver medal by W.R. Bock (Wellington) engraved '1924' 'Regimental Teams Rifle Match' and 'S.S.I., R.L. Jordan, Perm. Force S.C., N.Z.P.S.' (iii) NZ Long & Efficient Service Medal to W.O.1 L.R. Jordan N.Z.P.S. (iv) George V 35 Jubilee Medal to W.O.1 R.L Jordan N.Z.P.S. *presumably for second place Service Rifle Aggregate competition Jordan worked for the BNZ before and after WW1, his address at time of enlistment was Fiji where he was a clerk for BNZ. He later worked as a bank manager in Timaru. He was severely wounded in a murder attempt and theft in 1910.
