Lot Details

William John Green (9 Mar 1894 - 7 June 1917), WW1 25/321 Rifleman, 3 Bn., C-Coy, NZRB. Egypt, EEF and Western Front. Lot comprises: War Medal and Victory Medal, Memorial Plaque and mounted cover note with facsimile signature of George V, ID tag on steel chain bracelet. Enlisted 8 October 1915. Saw action in. France and was hospitalised. Rejoined unit in the field Jan 1917, Seen wounded 7 June, walking to rear but no further knowledge. Reported KIA. Burial Report: ."..50 yds from road- 25 yds behind our original front trench". Memorialised Messines Ridge (NZ Memorial. Includes: AWWM printout, NZ Archives printout.
