Reginald Harold Allen (29 Apr 1991 - 2 Oct 1916) Christchurch. WW1 6/941 NZEF 2/Lieut Canty. Infantry Bn, Main Body. Egypt, Gallipoli and Somme. Lot comprises: (i) 1914-15 Star; British War Medal and Victory Medal; (ii) Memorial Plaque with original card case and postal envelope; (iii) NZEF Memorial Card Photograph of the Grave (temporary cross) and subsequent Memorial Photograph (permanent headstone); (iv) mounted and matted Geo V Memorial Scroll and Royal Cover Note; and 2nd Lieut mounted Commission Certificate 20 Aug 1916 (signed Gov. Earl of Liverpool 1917) Embarked for Dardanelles 12 Apr 1915. Killed in Action, (one of 59 NZers that day, buried No Man's Land) Somme, France 2 Oct 1916. Memorilised at Warlencourt British Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France and at Bromley Cemetery on his mother Jane's headstone.
