Lot comprises: (i) Military Medal to 2-1977 Gnr. P.R. Hadley 13/By: N.Z.F.A.; (ii) 1914-15 Star; British War Medal and Victory Medal Embarked 14 Aug 1915. Discharged 4 June 1919. MM Granted 22/10/16 for bravery in the field. London Gazette 9 December 1916, p12058, Rec No 260. Citation: This man moved forward with the reconnoitring party, practically with the Infantry, laid telephone wire to the O.P. in Switch Trench near Flers and to Battalion Headquarters under continuous heavy fire, and kept same in repair throughout the day. By this act he showed great courage and devotion to duty and assisted materially in the efficient working of his battery.
