the Maltese cross engraved recto with monogram 'AL' and with pairs of fern leaves to each of the arms. Engraved verso: 'NZ Expeditionary Force, Presented To A. Leaman by his Omihi Friends, 1914' (Omihi, Hurunui District, Sth Canterbury). Alfred Walter Herman Leaman, (26 July 1888 - 26 Nov 1986), Tpr. Canty. Mtd. Rifles.
