Lot Details
Including: Bruce Edgar, Geoff Howarth, Mike Brearley, Brian Rose, Peter Denning, Colin Dredge, Terry Groves, Arnold Long Signatures represent two different series/matches. Against New Zealand, England won 3–0 (no draws), also winning the ODI series (Prudential Trophy) 2–0. England won the first two tests comfortably. In the second, Brendon Bracewell and Bruce Edgar made their Test debuts for New Zealand. In the third, Geoff Howarth top-scored with 123 and was named Player of the Match, one of the few individual bright spots for the tourists. This tour sits right after New Zealand had actually beaten England for the first time ever, a few months earlier in Wellington during England's tour of New Zealand (Feb–Mar 1978) — so there was a real ‘how will they follow that up’ storyline coming into this series, which New Zealand ultimately couldn't sustain on English soil.
